G.I.S. Vision Statement

Welcome to The City of Hilliard's G.I.S. Map Gallery portion of the website. The vision of the G.I.S. program for the City of Hilliard is to modernize the City's valuable data from hand-drafted information into a friendly computer user form, providing a "G.I.S. database" linked website for public access.  As quoted by Adam Atrafaci, writer of "Haestad Methods": "G.I.S. is a link between maps and databases," (Essentials of Hydraulics and Hydrology, 1998).

City employees within the city municipal building, police department and our Recreation and Parks Department has been utilizing our new Mapguide, Geographic Information System, since the installation of the program in July 2001.
The program utilizes our city parcel data information provided by the Franklin County Auditor's office. Current information available includes: sanitary, storm and water utilities, tributary watersheds, zoning classifications, subdivisions, aerial photography, points of interest locations, city parcel data, and surrounding boundaries.

For a quicker response time for map viewing, please view the static maps in our gallery. For the interactive mapping, please visit our City's G.I.S.

With the combined efforts of our Engineering Department as well as other city staff, we plan to deliver the finest interactive G.I.S. program that our community expects.

Thank You,
Michael D. Kelnhofer, GIS Administrator
